Mark Zuckerberg and Wife Has Just Invested US$3 Billion To Help Cure All Diseases

Billionaire couple and known philanthropists, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, has just pledged more than $3 billion to start an initiative that would help cure all diseases in the lifetime of their 10-month-old daughter.

Following their pledge to give away 99 percent of their wealth to good causes last year, the couple has invested much of it to fund research on curing the world’s diseases. The money was funded through their philantrophy organization, The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

Priscilla, happy first Mother's Day! You hold us up so we can experience the greatest adventures in life.

As part of the investment, a $600m research center will be built in San Francisco. This will be called the Biohub and will be built in partnership with Stanford, the University of California, and Berkeley.

Zuckerberg has also stated that The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative has already started building a “world-class engineering team” that would help scientists and experts do research on diseases.
