Beyoncé Pays Tribute To Victims Of Dallas Shooting On Instagram

A few days after writing a letter in response to black victims of police shootings, Beyoncé took to Instagram to pay tribute to the police officers who were killed in the recent Dallas, Texas shooting. The post was beautifully and artfully executed, showing the Texas flag blowing in breeze and the names of the fallen officers flashing on the screen.

Texas-born Beyoncé included the following caption with the video:

Rest in peace to the officers whose lives were senselessly taken yesterday in Dallas. I am praying for a full recovery of the seven others injured. No violence will create peace. Every human life is valuable. We must be the solution. Every human being has the right to gather in peaceful protest without suffering more unnecessary violence. To effect change we must show love in the face of hate and peace in the face of violence.

This social media tribute is significant due to the fact that Beyoncé has been accused of being anti-police after showing support to the Black Lives Matter movement and after her music video for “Formation” was released.

Sending our love to Dallas in this troubling and tragic time.
